JCS to perform at Spitalfields Summer Music 2011
On 21st June 2011 JCS will return
to Shoreditch Parish Church, to perform works by Pärt, Victoria, O’Regan, Campkin
and Gabriel Jackson. All the works comprise elements from the “hours” of the monastic

Gala Commission Wins Prize -
Kerry Andrew was presented with the Making
Music Award for her JCS commission Fall at the prestigious BASCA Awards ceremony
at Stationers’ Hall last night. Along with the award goes a commission for a new
piece for Making Music choirs sponsored by the Music Publishers’ Association. Kerry
has also been commissioned to write a new work for the Association of British Choral
Directors (abcd) to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. Thanks to all concerned with
the commission, particularly to the Morgan Stanley International Foundation for the

Presteigne Festival, Powys, Wales -
We returned to this very popular
festival (click here), where JCS had been warmly welcomed many times in years past.
Both concerts -
Purcell Room, South Bank “Bernstein Project” -
A programme of Samuel Barber
and William Schuman, where we included a foyer performance of Barber’s famous “Agnus

ANNIVERSARY GALA CONCERT, Cadogan Hall, Chelsea, London -
The culmination
of the 21st Anniversary Season, with an opportunity for Friends of JCS and
former
singing members to meet at this very special event (right) in the choir’s history.
It
featured 2 new commissions -
particular significance to the choir over its 21 years.
