A musical ‘Bon Voyage’ to Olivia
At our performance in the St Marylebone Festival on 21st July, we bade a musical ‘bon voyage’ to our Junior Conducting Fellow, Olivia Tait.
In a programme that included Olivia conducting the London premiere of a new work commissioned by the JCS from another rising young musician, Zoe Dixon, it was a memorable occasion for performers and audience alike.
It’s always rewarding to see our Junior Fellows grow in confidence and technical control – not only through working with JCS but also through their other conducting opportunities. As our Music Director, Peter Broadbent, says ‘the best way to learn conducting is to do it’ – and JCS is committed to supporting the rising generation of choral conductors!
Photos by Cath Caunt and JCS Chair Carolynne Cox show Olivia rehearsing the choir prior to our performance in St Marylebone Church and receiving a ‘bottled best wishes’ from Carolynne!
