Fauré’s Requiem and more by candlelight!
The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London welcomes the JCS back to St Martin-in-the-Fields on 5th April for our second performance in the Festival’s 2018 Spring Series.
The programme is a feast of sumptuous French music. In the first half we sing two rare chorales by Saint-Saëns along with much-loved Cantique de Jean Racine, and Franck’s famous Panis Angelicus from the Mass for three voices, performing it in a new choral version but with the original accompanying forces of cello, harp and organ. The festival’s resident orchestra, the Brandenburg Sinfonia, also perform two orchestral items by Fauré and Debussy’s Danse sacre et danse profane. In the second half, all forces combine under the baton of Peter Broadbent to perform Fauré’s Requiem.
Tickets are available from St Martin’s box office — call 020 7766 1100 or book online.
