‘Lux Aeterna’ in Northern Sweden
The JCS will be in reflective mood as we perform sacred and secular music from the 17th to the 21st centuries by composers from the Baltic, Scandinavia, Britain and beyond in our visit to Northern Sweden in May.

On a theme of ‘Songs from darkness to light – Sånger från mörker till ljus’ we will sing works by Purcell, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Poulenc, Grieg, Stanford, Harvey, Campkin, Williamson, Pearsall, Rehnquist and Mäntyjärvi.
Venues include Luleå’s cathedral (Domkyrkan), the northernmost cathedral in the country, which rose from the ashes of a fire in 1887 that destroyed large parts of the city centre.
