Rosemary Day
We are very sorry to share the news of the death of our founding Chair and life force, Rosemary Day, who died on Friday 18th September after a fierce and determined battle with cancer.
Peter Broadbent writes:
‘The Joyful Company would not have existed without Rosemary. I remember the energy and commitment she gave from the moment she suggested the idea, and the enormous personal financial investment she made in creating and supporting it for 14 years. I will never forget her smile when she received the Choir of the Year Award from Lord Sainsbury in the early days. Her faith in my ability to deliver the musical goods was inspiring, and her planning and management of so many large scale projects was formidable.
‘After holding many important posts in both commercial and government organisations she was happiest in retirement volunteering at the RHS gardens at Wisley. She was a remarkable and strong character.’
RIP Rosemary.
