Garlands for the two Elizabeths

A celebration for the diamond Jubilee of the Queen with music from The Triumphs of Oriana, a collection of madrigals written  in honour of Elizabeth I, interspersed by the 10 pieces of a Garland for the Queen commissioned for the 1953 festivities.

Garlands for the two Elizabeths at the English Music Festival
The “Garlands” programme is here modified to make room for music by Benjamin Britten, which will tie in with the Abbey’s exhibition of works by John Piper, a frequent collaborator of Britten
